7,300 Democrats met yesterday at the Texas State Democratic Convention.

I honestly thought State Congressman Al Green gave the most fired up speech of the night while introducing Rick Noriega. Here is a snippet:
I wish I had taken notes on the actual count, but when they asked for first time delegates to stand up, so many folks stood proudly, we all went CRAZY.
I met so many great people. There was a lovely, interesting man from a small West Texas town who helped me find my credential pick up area and shared lunched with me:

Chelsea Clinton:
One of the strongest moments is when Chelsea calls for unity behind Obama (starts around 2:11 in) and you can hear the crowd going wild. While all were holding up their favored candidates' signs, all were cheering the call for unity.
Rick Noriega also spoke:
Sitting in the afternoon sun while our caucus tended to business with a fellow Kossack, we met 2 lovely older Texas women. They were dressed to the nines. They had fulfilled their duties by hosting a fundraiser earlier in the week and were going to forego the evening speeches to get on with some much deserved party time. One of them was saying something about not knowing how she was going to be able to vote in November, when her friend succinctly and lovingly said...enough of that, you know what we have to do. And with that, these 2 proud, lovely, obvious Clinton supporters smiled ruefully at each other, and us in our Obama gear and went off into the sunset. My new friend remarks, don't cha love Texas Democratic women? I could but agree and knew everything would be ok with the Texas Democratic focus soon enough, with strong women like that running the show.
